Golf Club of Estrella
“A True Desert Paradise“
Golf Club of Estrella located in Goodyear, AZ, about a 30 minute drive from Phoenix is a top 20 rated Arizona golf course, and rated as the 28th best course in the US to golf by Golf Digest. It truly is a gorgeous and incredibly challenging course. The course is surrounded by the desert, the Sierra Estrella Mountains, and located within he community of Estrella. Estrella features some of the most scenic holes out there. The sprawling scenic Arizona course is a Nicklaus designed course that plays to all abilities for every golfer.
The course is designed to test your abilities and even more, your judgement when it comes to shot selection. Large multi level greens, surrounded by hazards, and tight fairways with houses on both sides, there is not much room for error. With that being said, the courses surface is one of the smoothest and offers a clean strike of the ball on most shots even in the rough.

Golf Club of Estrella Front Nine
The courses front nine is a scenic par 36 round. With slopes, sand traps located pretty much around every green and nestled within most fairways, the front nine offers a very challenging round for golfers of all abilities. The front nine consists of five Par 4’s, two Par 3’s, and two Par 5’s for a pretty standard round of golf.
My personal favorite hole on the front nine is hole number 5. Estrella’s number 5 is a short 386 yard par 4 where a well placed tee shot will dictate whether you will have a birdie opportunity, or have to settle for a treacherous double bogey. The hole features a small lake to the left of the green and high bunkers to the top right of the green.
Golf Club of Estrella Back Nine
Estrella’s back nine is equally as challenging as it is scenic. Similar to Estrella’s front nine, the back nine is a par 36 consisting of five Par 4’s, two Par 3’s, and two Par 5’s. My favorite hole on the back is easily number 18. Hole number is a 437 yard par 4 which has one of the coolest tee box areas I’ve ever played from. Almost similar to a sloping staircase, each tee box is located on an individual plateau rising with each tee location. I always play the pro tee’s on this hole, not because I am a pro by any stretch of the imagination, but because it offers there best view of the sprawling fairway out beyond.
Golf Club of Estrella Players Grill
The Golf Club of Estrella’s Players Grill is a locals favorite for great food and drinks. Open seven days a week the grill offers golfers a delicious meal after their round, and a very scenic and tasty dinner outing for all.
